Spirit Doll Give Away Winner Announcement!

It is after midnight here on east coast and it is officially August 16th. The day of the drawing for my spirit doll give away, little miss Sunshine. For those that stay up late and burn the midnight oil (like I do; LOL) you will now realize the winner. Otherwise, the morning awaits the news!

There were so many wonderful entries in this blog give away and I thank everyone for participating and wanting to give Sunshine Spirit a home. Your beautiful comments were appreciated and gave me lots of big warm smiles and hugs in my heart!

It will be coming upon fall and winter time soon enough where there are lots of gray days ahead. I know the lucky winner will be glad to have her and that Sunshine Spirit is going to maintain that light of sunshine for her new owner during the long cold winter months ahead.

I had 72 entries for the drawing and the lucky winner is . . . . drum roll please

THE BARONESS!!!!! Congratulations!

Baroness has 3 days to claim Sunshine Spirit by emailing me with her mailing address. Sunshine Spirit will be delivered first class mail!

She is so excited to begin her travel to her new guardian. She will receive her sage ceremony, placed into her spirit bag and off she will go. Quite a far distance as I believe the Baroness is across the country!

Thank you all for your entries! Stay tuned for more blog give aways that are sure to come soon — this is always so much fun!

Baby Mermaid “Alaina”

Here is tiny little baby mermaid. I named her Alaina. This little cutie is only about 4″. After completing Sailor’s Dream I had the desire to do a baby mermaid. I will most likely do a few more of these. Still trying to ‘bulk up’ my mermaid gallery at my website. Mermaids are so much fun and I love the fantasy aspect of them.

She comes with her little display. It is thick tan wool over a form and then fisherman craft netting over top so that wonderful sea treasures can be tucked inside — sea shells, starfish, sea glass, or any other sea treasures you desire!

Her legs are painted in blues and purples and her tail is sculpted of clay.

Look for her in my Etsy Shop soon!

It has been a long long time since I have created a mermaid sculpture. I had only made a few mermaids when I first started sculpting. I noticed my gallery at my website for the mermaids was looking pretty neglected. So I had the desire to start doing mermaids again.

She is so peacefully sleeping and I am really pleased with how she turned out considering the length of time that had gone by not having created any mermaids. Her colors are a beautiful pale peachy color with lots of shimmers on her legs and tail. Her top is silk gauze in a nude peach color.

Her tail was made using Angelina Film. Angelina film and I never got along too well, and it has been long while since I tried using it, now I just love it! I think it just took some time to get used to it.

I really enjoyed doing the scales on her legs and there are just so many options when doing mermaids. I undoubtedly will do a few more mermaids. Not only to fill my mermaid gallery section on my web site, but also to have fun experimenting with all the great stuff you can do with their legs and tails.

He base is fun because you can slide underneath the netting any type of sea shells or other sea type treasures. This way you can decide how you would like her display to look. I have a starfish hanging around here somewhere but couldn’t locate it — I think that would look really cute as well in the display. Some sea glass would look great also!

After creating Cinderella I was really in the mood to do another one in the same size. I really enjoy the pose-able ones and the size is just right for a beautiful display. I am also finding the costuming a lot of fun — ahhhh, well, I also have to admit the ‘girlie-girl’ part of me really loves these little princess like fairies with their sparkling tiara’s, luscious locks of hair, and their pretty silk and lace dresses.

It has been awhile since I have created a doll with red hair. I always seem to reach for the blondes first, then the browns. When I finished painting Kiahna’s face, at that point, she told me who she was. I little Irish Fairy. So yeah! I got to use the red hair on her as it seemed so fitting to her theme and face. I am very pleased with her outfit and her red hair look so cute on her.

Look for her in my Etsy shop soon. This blog post will be updated when she is placed into my shop.
